202 - Housekeeping

  1. Good housekeeping is an important part of incident and fire prevention. You are responsible for keeping your work area clean, orderly, and free of tripping hazards. Waste materials shall be disposed of in containers or receptacles provided for that purpose.
  2. Chairs, wastebaskets, or other articles shall not be le feet in aisles, passageways, or work areas where they may cause a tripping hazard.
  3. Spills shall be cleaned up immediately or posted until they can be cleaned up.
  4. All equipment and materials shall be placed in safe locations and in such a position that prevents any damage to them and does not create a hazard.
  5. Broken glass or other sharp-edged objects shall be disposed of in rigid, puncture-proof type containers or otherwise protected and identified for proper disposal.
  6. Temporary power cables, water lines, and air lines shall be placed to the side of walkways or otherwise protected or covered to prevent tripping.
  7. You shall not store materials on top of any handrail.
